Angela first arrived in Boca Raton in 1981, when Boca was still just a sleepy little college town. IBM was the largest employer in the area, and FAU students were a good majority of the population.

She came here from the northeast at the young age of 22 with just two suitcases, $250  in her pocket and a ride; but that’s not all… She had a strong determination ‘to make it on her own’ and an even stronger need to survive.

Within days, she was able to secure a used bicycle for transportation and an apartment with two other college girls off campus (luckily $185 was enough to cover her share of the rent for a month in Boca back then!).

Working her way through college part-time in the evenings, she worked an office job during the day and waiting tables in a local diner by weekends. Life was tough back then, but she stuck it out and finally did get her business degree from FAU in 1987.

Shortly after graduation, Angela met her soul mate and soon to be, dear husband. She decided it was time to take another leap of faith, and ventured out on her own once again, and launched All Kinds of Blinds, but this time she wasn’t alone. Her husband Phil was by her side, supporting her all the way and even becoming her full-time installer.

Twenty-one years later, with her husband and son installing blinds, and 85% of their business with loyal, repeat customers, many of whom have become dear friends over the years, she doesn’t see herself or her business slowing down anytime soon.

Although IBM has long since moved out of Boca, her business has grown as rapidly as FAU, and the City of Boca have, and her desire to continue serving her community is stronger than ever.

Phil moved down to South Florida in 1979 with his car and a big bag of change that he had saved up. Born and raised in Holland Michigan, Phil loves fishing, surfing, and hanging out with his wife and 2 sons.

He had previously held his Air Conditioning Journeyman’s license before meeting Angela and worked in the air conditioning industry in Palm Beach and Broward Counties for 18 years.

Since the launch of All Kinds of Blinds of South Florida, Phil has been an integral part of the business installing thousands of blinds in the local area. He is Certified as a Hunter Douglas Master Installer. Phil is especially handy with installing Powerview shades, a state of the art motorized system for blinds that operates shades wirelessly from anywhere in the world.

Phil’s passion is helping others and making people smile. Currently, Phil loves playing beach volleyball, spending time with family and soaking up the sun down here in South Florida. He still enjoys a good ole fashion hard days work while he and Angela continue to serve thousands of customers in the window treatment market in the local area.

Ryan has officially been with All Kinds of Blinds of South Florida since 2014. Ryan is a native to Florida and during his life, has seen his parents build one of the most successful blinds companies in South Florida. He attended Advent Lutheran through middle school, Boca Raton High School and then FAU where he studied business. Seeing the great opportunity that his parents had created, he decided to join the team and now works as an installer. He is especially good at programming the motorized shades and assisting the clients on how to operate them. Ryan has also received his Hunter Douglas Master Installer certificate and enjoys meeting people, fishing and surfing.

JoAnn grew up in the south, raised in Alabama and then moving to Atlanta after high school. She has now been in South Florida since 1990.  JoAnn’s career was in the hospitality industry until she became a stay at home Mom to raise her two sons.  Meeting Angela and Phil when they moved into her neighborhood, she also has two sons close in age the families became very close friends.

In 2007 JoAnn accepted the offer to replace Angela’s longtime office assistant who was retiring. The transition from being in constant motion in hospitality and raising children, to working at a desk, was entirely different.  However, since JoAnn loves people, and has excellent organizational skills, the position fit like a glove.

JoAnn still makes it a priority to stay in motion when not at work by getting to the gym for spin, yoga, and weight training classes.  She also loves to bowl and play Pickleball.

Being a neighbor, friend and employee for All Kinds of Blinds has been a blessing that she is grateful for on a daily basis.
