California shutters or Plantation shutters

Plantation shutters, also known as California shutters, are the most popular on the market. They have a timeless, elegant look, and work equally well on large and small windows.

Plantation shutters usually have “operable louvers”. This means that you can tilt the slats to adjust the light levels in the room. When closed, plantation shutters are great for sound and temperature insulation.

California shutters are usually fitted on the interior of your windows. If you have French windows or sliding doors in your home, ask for “bypass style” shutters, which slide across the door instead of opening horizontally.
